PigPen (or Masonic) Code

This code is a geometrical substitution code, where each letter of the alphabet is represented by a symbol which is part of a grid or a cross in which the letters are contained. There are a number of variants of mapping, depending upon the order of the grids and crosses:

To decode a message, click on the relevant images below and then select "Decode". The images will then be decoded for all the above variants so you can check if it works with any of them.
Use "Delete" to remove the last symbol input. Use "Clear" to clear all symbols and start inputting them again.

    


To encode a message, type in the text to be encoded (only alphabetic characters and spaces allowed) and it will be converted into all 4 variants.
